Check out the library website to sign up for a program and get started reading. This is week two for our children’s program sessions and there is still room available in some of our sessions. It is a summer of reading, science experiments, crafts and much, much more.
Scott’s Bike Shop will be having a demonstration on biking that will be fun for the entire family Tuesday, 3 to 4 p.m. in the library parking annex lot.
Employees will be discussing and demonstrating things like thread, resistance, figure eights, gravity and balance. Be sure to park in the main library parking lot and carefully walk across the street.
Our Wednesday matinee on June 18 will be the Lego Movie at 2 p.m. (Rated PG.) Join us for the movie and stay afterwards to play board games for an afternoon of fun until 5:30 p.m.
Have you always wanted to see what goes on behind closed doors of the library? Join us Thursday at 4 p.m. in the lobby for a behind-the-scenes tour with the library director. There is no reservation needed — just meet in the lobby for this 45-minute tour.
The Friends of the Library Association will host its Book and Coffee series Friday at the Craigmiles-Johnston House History Branch Library at 10 a.m. FOLA member Ann Cherry will review “LBJ: The Mastermind of the JFK Assassination” by Philip I. Nelson. This free event is open to the public and FOLA provides the coffee.
