Junior golfers busy on links

The Chattanooga area was kept busy for the past few days by the TGA Junior Golf Tour.

A number of local golfers were active at the Signal Mountain Golf and Country Club Monday.

Kyndall Shamblin reigned supreme in the Girls 15-Under Masters, shooting a 44 on both the front and back nine holes, for a total of 88 strokes.

Heidi Barringer topped the Girls 16-18 Masters, and was only 10 over par after shooting a 40-41 for a total of 81.

Drew Linkous tied for second place in the Boys 13-15 Masters posting a 44-41 for a total of 85.

In nine-hole competition, Gage Brakebill tied for third in the Boys 13-Under Masters after shooting a 44 and coming in eight over par.

In the Boys 16-18 Tour, Caleb Craig finished fifth after carding a 111, while Matthew Maynard was sixth coming in a stroke behind him.

In the Boys 13-15 Tour, Jake Durgin finished 16th with a 111 tally.

This past Thursday and Friday, the TGA Junior Golf Tour was at Bear Trace at Harrison Bay.

Kelsey Casada finished fourth in the Girls 15-Under Masters, shooting an 86 in the opening round and then finishing up with an 85 the second day for a 171 score.

Linkous finished sixth in the Boys 13-15 Masters with a total of 159, after rounds of 77 and 82.

In the Girls 16-18 Masters, Barringer finished seventh, shooting an 80-79 for a total of 159.

Katie Medley finished 11th after shooting an 81 and 86 for a total of 167.
