Lucille E. Porter, 77, ran into the arms of her loving Savior, Tuesday morning, June 17, 2014.

She was surrounded with love at home when she departed this world, love from the family at her side, and lots of love from others present in spirit. She will spend eternity in Heaven without pain and be free of fear and worry of this world. She will have a beautiful eternity with her husband Billy D. Porter; son, David F. Porter; and her parents, Earl and Lyda Dunn; as well as many other loving family and friends who preceded her Heavenly ascent.

She spent most of her life as a resident of Cleveland, but spent a few years as a newlywed living in Cheyenne, Wyo.

She was a wonderful and loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, cousin, aunt and friend.

She spent her life teaching and sharing her love for Christ through leading Sunday School classes and vacation Bible School lessons and by being a prayer warrior. She was blessed with the gift of a beautiful voice that she used to praise and worship the Lord at church, weddings, funerals and at home. She was a faithful member of Tasso Baptist Church, where she loved her church family so very much. She was a retired hair dresser and also a dietician with Bradley County Schools.

She leaves behind her daughter, Darlene Johansen and her husband, Daniel; daughter-in-law, Julia “Teena” Porter; six grandchildren: Tia Ray and husband, Brandon, Keisha Johansen, David L. Porter, Trever Porter and wife, Danielle, Joseph Ingram and Mikel Ingram; and four great -grandchildren: Caleb and Jenna Crisp and Nathan and Kyla Aki; one and only brother, Fred Dunn and wife, Euritha, of Knoxville; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews; great-great- nieces and nephews and a multitude of friends whom she loved just like family. She will be greatly missed and forever loved by her family, church family, and many friends.

The family would like to extend appreciation to Dr. Jason Dunn and Dr. Christopher Snyder, who took the time to show true support and concern during her care; the nursing staff from the 2nd floor and SICU at SkyRidge Medical Center, everyone was very kind and comforting; and a special appreciation to Avalon Hospice and Amedysis Home Health for their care after we brought her home.

The funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, June 21, 2014, at Tasso Baptist Church with Pastor Michael Cawood and Pastor Ronnie Cantrell officiating.

The interment will follow in Hilcrest Memorial Gardens with Pastor Raymond Allbright officiating.

Pallbearers will be David L. Porter, Trever Porter, Mikel Ingram, Joseph Ingram, Brandon Ray and Charles Stringer. Damion Kelley and Kent Lynn will serve as honorary pallbearers. A white dove release ceremony will conclude the service.

The family will receive friends from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at Fike Funeral Home.
