Jones ties for 1st at Brainerd

CHATTANOOGA — The Brainerd Golf Course proved a friendly layout for a number of local TGA junior golfers on Monday.

In the Boys 16-18 Masters, Tucker Jones tied for first after shooting a 38 on the front nine and 40 on the back side, for a total of 78. Jones came in only six strokes above par.

Drew Linkous finished first in the Boys 13-15 Masters. Linkous shot a 39 and 41 for a total of 80 and was only eight strokes above par.

In the Boys 10-13 Tour, Torr Coulthard tied for third place, coming in 12 above par after shooting a 48 over nine holes. Matthew Marino tied for sixth in the same division, shooting a 52.

Heidi Barringer finished third in the Girls 16-18 Masters, shooting 41 on both sides for a total of 82, which put her at 10 strokes above par.

In the Boys 16-18 Tour, Matthew Maynard shot a 50 and 56 for a total of 106, which gave him a fifth place finish.

Gracie Medley tied for seventh in the Girls 12-18 Tour after shooting a 57.
