Mary Pauline Presley, 82, of Cleveland and formerly of Benton, passed away on Monday, June 23, 2014, at her residence.

She was born and raised in Mobile, Ala. She moved to Cleveland in 1954 with her husband and young family.

She was employed at Bradley Memorial Hospital and Bradley County Nursing Home in the early 1970s where she met many dear friends.

She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was a gentle, soft-spoken encourager, and her greatest joy was her family and friends. She was an active member of Antioch Baptist Church as long as she was able and remained a faithful prayer warrior when she could no longer attend services.

She was the daughter of the late Harry and Ruby Poston. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Walter Earl Presley; her son, Eddie Presley; and her granddaughter, Stephanie Presley.

She is survived by four children and their spouses: Danny and Sandra Presley and Perry and Jane Presley, all of Charleston, David and Kay Presley of Lamontville, and Patricia and Jackie Stanfield of Cleveland; grandchildren: Jennifer Aaron, Tim Presley, Taylor Presley, Kylie Presley, Steven Presley, Mandy Bowman, Tiffany Chambers, Rodney Trentham, Zachary Stanfield, Brandi Koob, T.D. Presley; and 22 great-grandchildren.

The funeral will be held at 7 p.m., Thursday, June 26, 2014, at Higgins Funeral Home, with the Rev. Ed Eldredge officiating.

Interment will be at 10 a.m., Friday in the Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery. A white dove release ceremony will conclude the service.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home prior to the service.
