First District Commissioner Terry Caywood is reported to be doing well after quadruple bypass surgery.

Caywood underwent the procedure Wednesday at Memorial Hospital in Chattanooga, after becoming ill following Monday night’s Bradley County Commission meeting.

“The reports I have are that everything went well, according to what the doctors are saying,” Bradley County Commission Chairman Louie Alford said Thursday morning.

Alford said his understanding is Caywood would be kept in ICU at least for most of today, but had no information as to when Caywood may be released from the hospital.

“I am sure Terry and his family appreciate all the prayers and well wishes, and I hope everyone continues that support as our friend and colleague continues his recovery,” Alford said.
