Both local summer swim teams put up valiant efforts Thursday evening in Chattanooga Area Swim League meets, but unfortunately came up on the short end of the final scores.

In the Red Division, the Waterdogs made the trip to the Chattanooga Country Club, where the hosts were able to claim a 401.5 to 323.5 victory to pay the Cleveland squad back for a 381-332 defeat earlier this month. The Waterdogs will host the Fairyland Flash on Monday.

The Cleveland Aqua Tigers put up a strong effort but fell 401-347 at Stuart Heights, in Blue Division action Thursday. CAT will not swim again until July 7, when Ooltewah will pay a visit to the Tinsley Park Pool.

High scorer for the Waterdogs on Thursday were topped by Juliet Bryant’s 19.

Davina Sharma, Tanya Sharma, Eligio Urani, Martin Shapoval and John Bryant added 17 points apiece to the Waterdog effort.

Christian Fetzner and Mark Moshenskiy posted a dozen points apiece, while Maya Sharma, Kyra Nipper, Jesus Lopez and Daniel Gill each scored 10.

The Aqua Tigers had a quartet of 19-point scorers with Jacob McDaniel, Anna Thompson, Grayson Payne and Trey Parris topping the team effort.

Alexia Jackson and Grayson Officer collected 17 points apiece, while Luke Bixler had 15.

Lauren Thompson and Kylee Weir posted strong efforts with 14 points each, while Breanna Belcher finished with 13.

Logan Stutzman collected 11 points for CAT, while Ian Frakes and Benjamin Cooper rounded out the double-digits scoring with 10 apiece.
