Paulette Bolen, 67, of Old Fort, passed on June 27, 2014, at Erlanger Hospital of Chattanooga, following 8 1/2 years of faithfully and courageously battling cancer.

She was born on Feb. 1, 1947. She was a devoted wife to Larry “Fat Cat” Bolen for the past 37 years. She was a talented homemaker, constant help, and the love of his life. Alongside Larry, her contributions to the family farm and business were of great value, as was everything she did.

She was welcomed into heaven by her late parents, Sam and Della Young, along with her eldest sister, Edna Crittenden; brother-in-law, Fred Crittenden; older sister, Mildred Ballew; brother-in-law, Kenneth Adams; father-in-law, Sanford “Digger” Bolen; brother-in-law, Bobby Bolen; brother-in-law, Jim Bolen; and a host of family and friends preceding her.

She was the youngest of five children and leaves behind a sister, Billie Jean Adams; a brother, Donnie Young; sister-in-law, Carolyne Young; sister-in-law, Ann Bolen; and several nieces and nephews, and many very special friends whom she loved as family to cherish her memory.

She was a tremendous blessing to so many. She lovingly filled many positions within her family and among friends. She was a great encourager as she beautifully portrayed a passionate pursuit for life. She was widely known for her generous heart, an exceptional work ethic, her contagious smile, a profound love for family and friends, and a life well lived.

Her life was Christ’s. Paulette is now heaven’s gain.

A memorial service will be held on Monday, July 7, 2014, at 6 p.m. at First Baptist Church, Stuart Road in Cleveland, with the Rev. Billy Stoll of Abbeville, S.C., officiating.

The family will briefly receive friends from 5 until the 6 p.m. service time at the church.
