Daniel G. “D.G.” Lillard Jr., 93, died Monday, June 30, 2014, at Bradley Healthcare in Cleveland.
He was a World War II veteran, and served in the China – Burma – India Theater.
He was born in 1920 in Polk County to the late Daniel G., Sr. and Sena Kirksey Lillard. He was preceded in death by sisters: Rachel Lillard, Nancy Lillard, Gladys Lillard and Geraldine Brock; and brothers: Ted, Joe, Mel, and George (Beanie) Lillard.
He is survived by his wife, Peggy Rogers Lillard; daughter, Karen Lillard Roach and husband, Ronnie, of Chattanooga; sons: Bobby Lillard and wife, Karen, of Cleveland, Kevin Lillard and wife, Kathleen, of Reliance, and Dan Warnke and wife, Bernice Freedman of Brooklyn, Conn.; grandsons: Dylan Lillard of Cleveland, Joshua Lillard of Reliance, Zachary Lillard of Reliance, and Travis Roach of Destin, Fla.; sister, Sue Posey; and several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of a funeral service, the family will hold a private memorial to honor D.G.’s life.
The family would like to offer their appreciation to the nursing staff and CNAs of Bradley Healthcare for their wonderful service and kindness to D.G. during his time in their care.
