Emma Casteel, 86, a lifelong resident of Cleveland, passed away Wednesday morning, July 2, 2014, in a local health care facility.
She was the daughter of the late John David Moore and Flora Harness Moore. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Willie Lee Casteel; her brother, David Moore; a half brother, Horace Moore; and sisters: Hazel Murray and Edna Hargis.
She was a member of the Galilee Baptist Church and in her later years she attended Maple Street Baptist Church. She was retired from Cleveland Chair as a seamstress. She also loved to quilt.
Survivors include her daughter, Carol Walker and her husband, Vance; sons: Danny Casteel and his wife, Janice, and Doug Casteel, all of Cleveland; her grandchildren: Casey, Rocky, Blake and James Casteel, Joey Hawkins, Walter Walker II, Jeanne Medina and Vicki Walker; great-grandchildren: Dhalia Medina, Deisi Medina, Xochill Medina, Joshua Walker, Mason Casteel, Alex Casteel, Kiley Casteel and Cailyn Norris; sister-in-law, Lillian Moore; and several nieces and nephews.
A Remembrance of Life service will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, July 5, 2014, at the Wildwood Chapel of the Jim Rush Funeral Homes, with the Rev. Junior Burger officiating.
The interment will follow in the Red Hill Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Saturday from 1 until 3 at the Wildwood Chapel.
