SEVIERVILLE — Both the girls and the boys Tennessee Junior Amateur Championships drew to a close Thursday at the Sevierville Golf Club.
In the girls 10-14 age bracket, Benton’s Danielle Bates finished sixth with a total of 238. She shot a 79 in the first round, an 81 in the second and 78 in the third.
Kyndall Shamblin, a 10-year-old from Bradley County, tied for 10th, after shooting an 83, 80 and 83 for a three-round total of 246.
In the girls 15-18 championship competition, Heidi Baringer, of Ocoee, finished 31st with a total of 245. She shot an 81 in the first round, 84 in the second and an 80 in the third round.
Walker Valley’s Katie Medley tied for 49th, after shooting an 88, 86 and 93 for a three-round total of 267.
Olivia Williams, a sophomore at Bradley Central, finished 59th with a total of 296, including a 94 in the final round.
The lone local in the boys Junior Amateur Championships was Dylan Lillard, who tied for 31st. The Walker Valley standout fired a 82-70-75 — 227.
In regular TGA Junior Tour play was in Athens Thursday, making a stop at the White Oaks Golf Club.
In the boys 16-18 Masters, Riceville’s Paul Houk finished first after shooting 34 and 37 for a total of 71. Paul came in one under par.
Cleveland High’s Tucker Jones finished third with a 43-44 — 87 total.
Riceville’s John Houk finished first in the Boys 13-under Masters, firing a 5-over 41, in the nine-hole competition.
Gage Brakebill finished fourth in the division after shooting a 47.
Tripp Hall finished second in the Boys 8-9 Micro competition after carding a 52.
In the Boys 10-13 Tour, Torr Coulthard came in sixth with a 54.
Noah Grady finished 10th in the Boys 13-15 Tour.
