Special recognition was given to those graduating from three programs: University Honors Scholars, Midway Honors Scholars and Fine and Performing Arts Scholars.
University Honors Scholars receive full scholarships to the university and participate in a specially designed curriculum. The prestigious program offers exclusive, interdisciplinary, yearlong seminars in science, the arts, literature and philosophy, as well as interactive special sections of such courses as calculus and U.S. history.
In addition, each Honors Scholar completes a senior honors thesis in his or her major area of study, the culmination of a yearlong project with a faculty mentor. Among them was Morgan Isom, daughter of Jimmy and Becky Isom of Cleveland, who graduated with a degree in nursing.
She served as a Mountain States Health Alliance Nurse Intern II and as a volunteer at the One Acre Café.
A member of 708 Ministries, she attends Central Church of Christ. For the past two years, she has served on the committee of the Children’s Miracle Network hospitals fund raiser, Dance Marathon at ETSU.
