Foothills Country Fair set July 25, 26

The 11th annual Foothills Country Fair/Kansas City Barbecue Society BBQ Bash will be held on July 25 and 26 at the Tri-State Exhibition Center.

The gate will open on Friday from 4 to 10 pm. Friday admittance is $5 for ages 6 an up.

While no pins will be sold, the fair is asking for cans of food to be donated to The Caring Place in the name of the Fair and KCBS BBQ.

Admittance on Saturday is free. Hours will be 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. The free day is courtesy of the sponsors.

There will also be barrels for canned foods for the Caring Place to be placed.

Kansas City BBQ teams and amateur barbecue cookers will be competing Saturday for major awards and bragging rights.

Attendees will be able to sample the “People’ Choice BBQ” and vote for the best sample.

Entertainment will be provided Friday, beginning at 7 p.m. Check into Cash is the sponsor. Artists will be Convertiful, Dagger Blue and the Collins Brothers.

Bring a folding chair and join the fun.

The Cashdales and Moneymules may also make an appearance.

There will be a Kids Area with a petting zoo, bouncies, contests and more.

Vendors will be on hand to sell fod, drinks, craft and more.
