SkyRidge Medical Center will open a multispecialty clinic in Cambridge Square, a mixed-use community currently under development at the intersection of Ooltewah-Georgetown Road and Lee Highway.

A groundbreaking ceremony will be held Thursday, from 4:30 until 6:30 p.m., at the Cambridge Square Development site located at 6509 Arbury Way in Ooltewah.

The SkyRidge practice will include services ranging from prenatal to geriatric healthcare. The providers offer many years of experience and will represent various specialties such as OB/GYN, internal medicine and family practice, including pediatrics and adults.

Doctors establishing the practice include:

- Obadias Marquez, MD, Internal Medicine;

- Karisten Djernes, MD, board-certified Family Practice; and

- Stephen Kerley, DO, board-certified OB/GYN.

“We are excited for this growth opportunity and to work with the new Cambridge Square Development team,” said Coleman Foss, chief executive officer of SkyRidge Medical Center.

“Many of our friends, family and medical professionals live and work in the greater Ooltewah area, so increasing our accessibility in this market was a natural fit, and a step we were very proud to take.”

Foss added, “We look forward to continued service in the community through the delivery of quality health care.”

SkyRidge will occupy approximately 5,000 square feet in a newly constructed building which broke ground earlier this month. Barrier Properties, the Cambridge Square developer, will work directly with SkyRidge officials in the design and construction of the new facility, which will have a total of 10,000 square feet.

The building’s completion is slated for spring 2015. River Street Architecture is the lead architect; and BP Construction will serve as the general contractor.

“We are thrilled that SkyRidge has decided to join Cambridge Square,” said Jim Cheney, marketing director for Barrier Properties. “They represent the very best in health care in our region, and we view their commitment to our development and the Ooltewah community as yet another sign of this market’s unbelievable potential.”

Cambridge Square has approximately 230,000 total square feet of commercial and retail space situated on a 25-acre parcel that fronts Lee Highway, just off Exit 11 on I-75. Space is available for lease and for purchase. The development is also zoned for residential housing, with single-family homes ranging from 1,500 to 3,500 square feet in size.

Infrastructure for the community’s residential section has been installed and sales are anticipated to begin in 2015.

Cambridge Square is located at the intersection of Ooltewah-Georgetown Road and Lee Highway, less than half-a-mile from Interstate 75. Its current tenants include Beyoga Ooltewah, Heaven and Ale Ooltewah, IHP/Morning Pointe, Legacy Real Estate Services, Mixed Up Cup Frozen Yogurt, Lupi’s Pizza Pies, Southern Burger Co., Tedford Family Dentistry, Wine Down Ooltewah and Wired Coffee.
