He was born Oct. 25, 1928, to Orvil and Alma Copeland Boker in Virginia, Ill. He married Louise H. Wilson on Nov. 25, 1947, in Peoria, Ill.
Loved ones who preceeded him in death included his first wife, Louise; his parents; son, Terry; daughter, Karen; and two brothers: Dale and Harold. He married Ina Stewart Trent in 2002 in Cleveland. She also preceded him in death in 2011.
He was a professional boxer in his young life and later retired from Caterpillar Inc. at Mossville, Ill., in 1993 where he was an UAW Committeeman. He attended Shiloh Baptist Church in Polk County.
He is survived by his stepson, Donald Wilson and his wife, Linda, of Chillicothe, Ill.; grandson, T.W. Boker of New Albany, Ind.; stepgrandson, Bryan Wilson and his wife, Julie, of Peoria; stepgranddaughter, Trisha Wilson Winters of Scott Air Force Base in Illinois; great-granddaughter, Alaina Boker of New Albany; great-grandson, Caiden Boker; one stepgreat-granddaughter, Devon Winters of O’Fallon, Ill.; three stepgreat-grandsons: Trevor Winters of O’Fallon and Dakota and Matthias Wilson of Peoria; stepgreat-great-grandson, Bradley Winters of O’Fallon; one brother, Rodney Boker and his wife, Pat, of Waterloo, Ill.; two sisters-in-law: Geneen Boker of Royal Oak, Mich., and Sandy Boker of Missouri; numerous nieces and nephews; and a very special lady, his caregiver Melanie Whaley who treated him like family.
