Joining Ownby as the 2014 slate of officers leading the association are fellow Cleveland attorneys Jerry Hoffer, vice present and president-elect; Daniel Clanton, secretary; and Rex Wagner, treasurer.
“Jack Tapper, the past president of the Bar, had a very successful year helping the Bar with monthly CLE education programs, beginning a local Bar pro bono project for the needy in the city, and he started the first Bradley County Bar website dedicated to its members,” Ownby said.
The local Bar website is www.bradleybar.com and includes all members of the Bradley County Bar.
The Bradley County Bar Association is a voluntary membership of local attorneys dedicated to maintaining high standards in the local legal profession, providing continuing legal education for its members, working with legal aid organizations for pro bono representation, and helping offer better legal services for all residents of Bradley County.
“Every Bar president wants to engage as many attorneys as possible in Bar meetings, activities, and any service we may offer or sponsor to the local Cleveland area, I want to make sure the local attorneys will continue to benefit as much as they can by membership, interaction and duties that go along with being a Bar member,” said Ownby.
Ownby envisions the Bar moving forward in the next year and hopes to see more interaction and communication between the community and the Bradley County Bar regarding expanding activities and services to benefit the local community.
