Kevin Maurice Winton, 42, of Athens, died Friday, Aug. 1, 2014, at his residence.
He was formerly employed by H.T. Hackney in Athens.
He was a graduate of the McMinn County High School class of 1991. He attended St. Mark A.M.E. Zion Church in Athens.
He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Ralph and Phyllis Winton.
Survivors include one son, Demicha (Monica) Malone of Etowah; new arrival granddaughter, Demisha Marie Malone; sister, Kelley ( Morrow) Mack of Athens; two nieces: Jarah Marie and Jada Milen Mack, both of Athens; uncle, Leon Franklin (Tiffany) Westfield of Georgetown; aunt, Mattie Sue Craig of Athens; five great-aunts: Mary Winton of Athens, Madra Thompson of McDonough, Ga., Teresa (Sherman) Huff of Fayetteville, N.C., Frances Arnold of Cleveland; and Grace (Sherman) McCleary of Charleston; four great-uncles: William (Linda) Thompson of Etowah, Calvin Thompson of Athens, Tom (Faye) Thompson of Georgetown and Thomas Lee Winton of Athens; special cousins: Judy Winton of Knoxville and Mike Thompson of Decatur and Marcus Winton; special friend and neighbor, Elizabeth “Shorty” White of Athens; and many other relatives and friends.
The funeral will be held Thursday, Aug. 7, 2014, at 2 p.m. in the chapel of M.D. Dotson and Sons Funeral Home in Athens, the with Rev. Leuty McDermott officiating.
The family will receive friends one hour before the service at the funeral home. Interment will follow at McMinn Memory Gardens.
