The topic will address “how to read a financial statement for the non-financial professional.” Whether you participate on a nonprofit board or in your own organization, like many professionals, you may not know how to read financial statements or simply may have forgotten what you learned in school. Presenters Stefanie Crowe and Carol Newton will offer targeted training and/or a refresher to help you read financial statements.
Crowe is executive vice president and director of wealth services for CapitalMark Bank & Trust. In her current role, she assists individuals and families with wealth planning, investments, trust administration and charitable giving, and often serves as a liaison with the client’s banker team.
Crowe is a frequent presenter on financial topics related to women and wealth, as well as women in the boardroom. She also has presented to students from college to the grammar school level on topics ranging from community service, leadership, money management and finance to networking, economics, and entrepreneurship.
Assisting Crowe is Carol Newton. Newton, a financial leader in the healthcare industry for 30 years, currently serves as regional director for Catholic Health Initiatives.
Previously, Newton served for 12 years as a senior vice president and chief financial officer, where her role included responsibility for all aspects of strategic planning, as well as all financial and business operations for the health system.
Women’s Council sessions, which are valuable opportunities for networking and learning at low cost, are open to all women and men, says Ann Marie Brewer, who chairs the Women’s Council board. All meetings take place in the Chamber’s conference center at the Village Green Town Center.
Cost for the “How to Read a Financial Statement for Non-Professionals” session is $15 for Chamber members and $25 for nonmembers, and includes a buffet luncheon.
To register, call 423-472-6587 by noon on Thursday, Aug. 21. Chamber members also may register online at the community calendar at www.clevelandchamber.com.
