The SPCA of Bradley County will hold a special called meeting Friday in the County Commission meeting room at 7 p.m.

The agenda lists the following items: selection of new board members, update on nonprofit status, update on animals in custody, director status and request for topics for the next board meeting.

Friday’s meeting comes almost two weeks after the board shot down SPCA President Betti Gravelle’s motion to dismiss shelter director Bobbi Anderson and instead voted 3-2 to place a 30-day stay on dismissals.

The board also voted to give Gravelle and volunteers from her “Cleveland for a No Kill City” 30 days to implement Gravelle’s operational model she said had never been implemented while leaving Anderson in the director’s position.

The County Commission, by lack of any action Monday night, acquiesced to that 30-day trial, but will revisit the idea of contract renegotiations when it meets for a work session Monday at noon.
