The second meeting of the Friends of the Greenway will be at 4 p.m. on Tuesday in the Carmichael Room at the Cleveland Public Library. The public is welcome and everyone who has made a $25 donation or more to the Greenway is a member.

The Dining with Diabetes workshop — four two-hour classes — will begin Aug. 26 and continue on Sept. 4, 11 and 18 at the UT Extension-Bradley County office at 95 Church St. S.E. Class time will be 5 to 7 p.m. each evening. Call the UT Extension office for registration details at 728-7001.

FITNESS CLASSES:

— TOPS (Take Off Pounds Sensibly) local chapter meets every Monday at Wesleyan United Methodist Church on Peerless Road. Private weigh-ins are from 5 to 5:30 p.m.; meeting is from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. A TOPS category for children ages 7-18 is available. For more information, call 472-9628 or 593-4727.



Memories on Mulberry Antique Show and Sale will be held Sept. 6, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., on the courthouse lawn in Loudon. The event is sponsored by Loudon Merchants and Property Owners Association. For information, call 865-458-6433 or 865-458-9020.

AT THE LIBRARY:

— A new family-friendly Zumba class is offered Tuesday and Thursday mornings at 8:10.

— Regularly scheduled children’s and teen’s programming resumes this month, except for the Book Chatter group.

— A library tour is set for Aug. 21 at 4 p.m. Just come to the library and meet Andrew Hunt, the director, at the circulation desk.

—Teens will have gaming time on Monday at 4:30 p.m. Remember to bring an E-rated multiplayer game if you want. Teen After Hours will be Friday night from 7 to 9. Join the young adult librarian in book chatting, gaming, watching movies or all of the above. This program for ages 13-17 occurs while the library is closed.

— Lego Club Jr., ages 4-7, will be Tuesday at 4:30 p.m. and Lego Club, ages 8-12, will be Thursday at 4:30 p.m. Both of these programs are held in our Community Room and the Library supplies all the Legos your child’s heart could desire. Lego Clubs will be at 4:30 p.m. on the third Tuesday of the month for ages 4-7, and on the third Thursday of the month for ages 8-12.

— Teens will be playing classic video games such as “Mario Kart” and the exhilarating “Just Dance” on the Wii and Xbox every Monday from 4:30 through 6:30 p.m. at the Library. You may bring an E-rated multiplayer game to share.

— Showing this month at Movie Night for adults is “American Hustle.” It will be screened Tuesday, Aug. 26, at 6:30 p.m. More information will be available later this month.

Calico Squares Club dancers meet every Tuesday night from 7 to 9:30 at the Tennessee Christian Preparatory School cafeteria, 4995 North Lee Highway. For more information, call Teresa at 479-7790.
