Dancers from the Cleveland Dance and Performing Arts Center had the opportunity to perform for the seventh year during the Mrs. Georgia America Pageant held in Roswell, Georgia. The pageant is televised every year in Georgia during the month of September.

Select dancers from CDPAC performed throughout the pageant in the opening number with the contestants. They also performed various solos throughout the evening’s event.

The 2014 Mrs. Georgia America Pageant was held at the Roswell Cultural Arts Center this past June. Nisa Hooper, owner and executive director of both Cleveland & Chattanooga Dance and Performing Arts Centers has been the lead choreographer for the Georgia America Pageant System for the past seven years. She is also the choreographer for the Mrs. Minnesota, Mrs. Wisconsin and Mrs. Iowa pageants.

This past June, Hooper traveled to Minneapolis and had the pleasure of working with some of the most amazing dancers in the country. While in Minneapolis, she worked with several dancers from the nationally acclaimed Larkin Dance Studio of Maplewood, Minnesota. She also had the pleasure to work alongside the famous Minnesota Vikings Cheerleaders as well as Miss Minnesota Teen USA 2014 Catherine Stanley.

In 2015, Hooper will be the choreographer for five televised state pageants in the Mrs. America Pageant Organization — Georgia, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Iowa and the Mrs. New York Pageant. The prospective winners of each state pageant travel to Tucson, Arizona, for the nationally televised Mrs. America Pageant. It will air on the WE Network this fall and be hosted by Florence Henderson from “The Brady Bunch”

Hooper is the owner and executive director of Cleveland Dance and Performing Arts Center on North Ocoee Street and Chattanooga Dance and Performing Arts Center on East Brainerd Road.
