Edward Julian Parrott, 87, passed away at his residence Wednesday, Aug. 20, 2014.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur Parrott and Georgia Hightower Parrott; his wife, Shirley Parrott; daughter, Cheryl Parrott; and two brothers and four sisters.
He is survived by two sisters: Florence Duckett and Sally Harkey; several nieces and nephews; and his caregivers: Gloria and Jimmy Hayes and their two sons: Shane and Tyson.
He was a resident of North Carolina for many years, but he had recently retired and moved back to his home state of Tennessee.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving in World War II. He loved Tennessee football. He was always a straight spoken person and he always “did it his way.”
A special appreciation to Lena Vaughn, Wilma Parrott, and nephew, Keith Harkey who helped with his care in North Carolina; as well as a special appreciation to those other family members who helped with his care and visited since he moved back to Tennessee.
A graveside memorial service will be held Friday, Aug. 22, 2014, at 11 a.m. in Lee Cemetery off White Oak Valley Road.
There will be a procession to the graveside which will leave at 10:30 a.m. from Companion Funeral Home, 2415 Georgetown Road N.W.
