Florine ‘Flo’ Hall Umberger Slaughter Morgan, 95, of Eton, Ga., passed away on Sunday, Aug. 17, 2014.
She was preceded in death by her husbands: Joseph Umberger, W.J. (Bill) Slaughter and J.R. Morgan; parents, S G. and Carrie Hall; brothers: Egbert, Frank, Whit, Jim, and Hugh M. Hall; sisters: Robbie Dee Ryan, Jewel Bostic, Eunice Springfield, Cora Green and Malvia Hall.
She was raised in Murray County. She was the owner of Flo’s Beauty Shop in Dalton for more than 30 years. After marring J.R. and moving to Charleston, she spent another 20 years as a beautician. During her time doing hair, she made many lifelong friends and memories that she always held dear to her heart.
With a keen sense of humor, and a smile like no other, she lived life to the fullest. She loved to dance and did so for many years, she still had rhythm in her feet and music in her heart.
Survivors include her sons and daughters-in-law: Doyle and Cindy Simmons Slaughter of Eton, Jim ‘Eton’ Umberger of Chicago, Ill, Johnny and Sara Morgan and Jimmy and Karen Morgan all of Charleston; daughter: Vickie Mantooth of Charleston; brother-in-law: Richard Ryan of Chatsworth; grandchildren: Chandler Simmons, Amie Slaughter Dekau, Matthew Slaughter, Tyler Slaughter, Victoria Simmons Johnson, Carrie Umberger, Joseph Umberger, Jeremy Umberger, Danielle Umberger, Gabrielle Umberger, Michelle Blair, Heather Forshee, Andrew Morgan, Amy Gaddy, Kevin Mantooth, and Kristie Mantooth; and eight great-grandchildren; also survived by nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be held at 5 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 26, 2014, in the chapel of Peeples Funeral Home in Chatsworth, Ga. with Bro. Michael Lassetter and Cindy Simmons Slaughter officiating.
Interment will follow in the Eton Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday from 5 until 8 p.m. and on Tuesday from 3 p.m. until the funeral hour.
