Charles Card Espy, 60, of Chattanooga, passed away Saturday, Aug. 23, 2014.
He was born on April 22, 1954, to the late Robert “Bob” and Martha Espy.
He was a lifelong resident of Chattanooga and had many hobbies and loves. He loved to hunt, fish, having cars and hot rods and any type of racing. He was known as the “Lawnmower Man” for many reasons: because of his love for mowing grass, and the fact he raced lawnmowers.
He was a very generous person and would help anyone in need. His family and friends were his life and he cherished them dearly. His grandfather owned Honest Charlie’s Speed Shop, for which Charles was named.
In addition to his mother and father, he was preceded in death by his brother, Bobby Espy.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife of 13 years, Melissa Espy; stepdaughter, Samantha Bond; sister, Amy Lombardo (Joe); sister-in-law, Zee Espy; three nephews: Casey Espy (Courtney), Tanner Espy (Maegan) and Logan Espy; and many extended family members and friends.
A memorial service will be held in his honor at 3 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 21, 2014, at the Heritage House, 1428 Jenkins Road in Chattanooga.
You are invited to share a personal memory of Charles or your personal condolences with his family at his online memorial located at www.companionfunerals.com.
