A two-vehicle crash which occurred shortly after 7 a.m. today claimed the life of one of the drivers. Lt. Robert Suits of the Cleveland Police Department confirmed one female died in a crash on Georgetown Road at the intersection of Paul Huff Parkway.

According to Suits and initial reports at the scene, the female driver of a blue car was traveling Paul Huff Parkway toward the intersection of Georgetown Road. A white pickup truck hauling a utility box trailer was headed in to the city. The vehicles collided in the intersection and the truck reportedly came unhitched from the trailer and landed off the roadway on top of the blue car occupied by the female driver. Traffic in the area was diverted as crime scene and traffic investigations teams documented the area and continued their investigation. Assisting at the scene were Cleveland Police, Cleveland Fire Department, and Bradley County Emergency Medical Service.

The female victim marked the fourth fatality in Bradley County and Cleveland during the past 30 days. This was the first fatality within the city limits recorded this year. According to Suits, the driver of the pickup truck did not suffer any injuries. The name of the victim has not been released pending notification of next of kin.
