She was a graduate of Coffee High School in Florence, Ala. She was a member of East Cleveland Seventh-day Adventist Church in Cleveland.
She worked for several years at T-Mobile in Chattanooga.
She was a loving person. She was known always to have a smile on her face and a Southern accent that was memorable to all.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Joseph Gray.
Her life will continually be celebrated by her children: Star Gray and Lee Eggleston Jr.; three grandchildren: Kamaje, Konner and Jakies; parents, Eva and Arthur Conner, all of Cleveland; sister, Ava (Rico) Davis of Chattanooga; uncles: Ronald Anderson and Shawn Anderson, both of Jacksovnille, Ark., Earl Anderson of Mesa, Ariz., Wallace Thompkins of Bay Shore Long Island, N.Y., and Lugene Tompkins of Painesville, Ohio, and James Tompkins of Tuscumbia, Ala.; aunts: Janette Wilson of Bay Shore Island, Pearl Walls and Jean Everett, both of Atlanta, Ga., and Margaret Thompson of Lima, Ohio; and several relatives, friends and loved ones.
The body may be viewed from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday in the chapel of Patton Funeral Home.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 3 p.m. Saturday, May 15, 2010, at East Cleveland Seventh-day Adventist Church on East Street. The funeral will follow with Pastor Joseph F. Millner Jr., eulogist.
Interment will be in Fort Hill Cemetery.
