Alta Louise Lonas Lawson, 83, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday morning, May 12, 2010, in a local hospital.

She was the daughter of the late Guy Lonas and Sally Sharp Lonas. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Lawson; brother, Melchi Lonas; sister, Bursie Toomey; and niece, Betty Newman.

She was retired from the Holiday Inn and was a member of the New Hope Church of the Nazerene.

Survivors include her sons: Hubert Lawson and Tommy Lawson and his wife, Janice; daughter, Elizabeth Ann Adcock and her husband, Danny; grandchildren: Rhonda Cheek, Franklin Junior Lawson, Tammy Lawson and Karen Lawson; great-grandchild, Torrey “Toy Boy” Lawson, all of Cleveland.

A Remembrance of Life service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, May 14, 2010, at the Wildwood Avenue Chapel of Jim Rush Funeral Homes with Pastors Scott Carraway, Eddie Tate and Ronald Ledford officiating.

Interment will follow in Hilcrest Memorial Gardens with Larry Patterson, Michael Goodwin, Robert Cheek, Mike Paschke, Tom Scarpitti, Bo Gordy, Eddie Tate and Chris Cross serving as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 9 this evening at the funeral home.
