Jimmie Lou Burgess Cate, 86, passed away Monday, May 17, 2010, in a local health care facility.

She was a very loving mother and loved her family and grandkids very much. She was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Carroll Lee Cate; son, Reuben Cate; daughter, Anna Sue Cate Moore; parents, Florence and H.M. Burgess; brothers: Joe Burgess, Ray Burgess and Prince Burgess; and sisters: Reba Callahan and Katherine Mashburn.

Survivors include her son, Jerry Cate and wife, Lecetia, of Cleveland; daughters: Sally Stewart and husband, Jack, of Old Fort and Louise Womac of Cleveland; grandchildren: Tim Moore, Carroll Cate, Michael Stewart, Mark Stewart, Whitney Gray, Kristi Self, Sherry Cate, Susan Cate, Kendra Cate and Tina Jackson; and several great-grandchildren; and great-great-grandchildren; and sister, Inez Taylor.

The funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, May 20, 2010, in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with Pastor Victor Hayes and Pastor J.C. Eller officiating.

Interment will follow in Lebanon Cemetery with Tim Moore, Carroll Cate, Michael Stewart, Mark Stewart, Cody Buckner and Blayton Womac serving as pallbearers.

A white dove release ceremony will conclude the service.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 this evening at the funeral home.
