MainStreet Cleveland will open its first 5 Points Farmer’s Market Thursday afternoon at the Museum Center at Five Points.
MainStreet Executive Director Sharon Marr said activities will begin at 4 p.m. and the market is opening prior to Memorial Day so residents can take advantage of produce for use through the holiday such as cookouts and family gatherings.
Freshly picked fruits and vegetables will be sold at the popular market.
Marr said the market is held at the Museum Center at Five Points at present but the First Street Square location should be complete my mid-July and the event will be held there.
Construction of the new park is nearing completion but Marr said officials want to make sure plantings and sod have had to time to get established before heavy use of the facility is planned.
Local crafters and live music will also be featured at the MainStreet Farmer’s Market.
David Ivy is the scheduled entertainer.
Marr expects 20 local farmers and producers to be selling their fresh produce.
The market will be held each Thursday afternoon throughout the growing and harvest season beginning at 4 p.m.
