Hendrix scholarship
CONWAY, Ark. — Rachel Denham of Cleveland, a senior at Baylor High School, has received both an academic scholarship and an Odyssey Honors and Distinction Award for Professional and Leadership Development to attend Hendrix College beginning in the fall of 2010.
Denham is the daughter of David and Peggy Denham.
Lisa Galloway receives education doctorate
STATESBORO, Ga. — More than 20,000 people packed into Georgia Southern University’s Paulson Stadium on May 8 to honor a record number of graduates at Spring Commencement.
Approximately 2,400 graduates participated in the ceremony. New Georgia Southern President Brooks Keel, who took office in January, served as the speaker at the event.
Along with the “traditional” graduates, Georgia Southern recognized 153 fully and 63 partially online graduates, the most ever for the University.
Lisa Galloway from Ducktown graduated at Georgia Southern’s Spring Commencement with a doctor of education.
Victoria Yates receives Gleaner scholarship
ADRIAN, Mich. — Victoria Yates of Cleveland has been chosen as the recipient of a $1,000 Gleaner Life Insurance Society Scholarship Foundation Award winner.
Yates is the daughter of John and Linda Dixon of Cleveland.
Yates was one of 125 students selected to receive the 2010 scholarship award form the Gleaner Insurance Society Scholarship Foundation. A 2010 graduate of Walker Valley High School, she plans to attend Lee University as an exercise and health science major.
