Martha Rymer Phillips Browder, 83, a resident of Old Fort, passed away Saturday evening, June 5, 2010, at the family residence.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Lena Wilcox Rymer and John Rymer; her first husband, Ozzel Phillips; second husband, Joseph Browder; several sisters and brothers; and one grandson, Steven Smith.
She retired from Jackson Mfg. after 35 years and was a member of Boanerges Baptist Church.
Survivors include two daughters: Beatrice Sue Smith and Diane Shannon and her husband, Ray, all of Old Fort; one son, Jim Phillips and his wife, Joyce, of Old Fort; grandchildren: Lynn Phillips and his wife, Shelia, Jennifer Phillips, Shelia Diane Green, Cassandra Anette Stone, Christopher Reed Smith, Cassie Roberson and her husband, Les, and Hollie Shannon, all of Old Fort; great-grandchildren: Reed Phillips, Shay Hale, Brandon Green, Storm Green, Aeris Golden, Haden Golden, Caylin Ray Hawkins, Ales Reed Hawkins, Zachery Eugene Roberson, Haley Roberson, Megan Roberson, Shaw Alexander Kertesz, Lorelei Diana, and Patience Massie Stephens; sisters: Charsie Walker, Jewel Nichols, Lily McGill, and Lena Walker, all of Chatsworth; brother, Bill Rymer of Chatsworth; and several nieces and nephews.
The Remembrance of Life services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 9, 2010, from the Wildwood Chapel of Jim Rush Funeral Homes with the Rev. Charles Cheatham and the Rev. Joe Hatcher officiating.
Interment will follow in the Boanerges Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends 6 to 9 this evening at the funeral home.
