The Friends of the Library Association has had to cancel its June 18 Book and Coffee Series due to a serious illness.
The Book and Coffee series will continue next month on July 16 with a review and discussion of the One Book One Community read, “Autumn Winifred Oliver Does Things Different,” by Kristin O’Donnell Tubb. The library has several copies of this book available for your enjoyment.
There are several teen events happening this week. Monday will be the Red, White and Blue Trivia from 3 to 5 p.m. in the Young Adult area, June 15 the movie “National Treasure” will be shown for teens in the Community Room from 3 to 5 p.m. and Game Time will be held June 17 from 3 to 5 p.m. in the Young Adult area.
Registration is required for certain Children’s Room activities during the summer months. Stop by the Children’s Room desk or call the library at 472-2163 to sign up. Age requirements are noted for the crafts and cooking workshops.
The Reference Department is still accepting reservations for the Small Business Development’s workshop on June 24 titled “Business Opportunities: Franchising.” It will be held in the Carmichael House Conference Room from noon to 2 p.m. Bring a sack lunch or purchase a sandwich at the Bookworm Café.
A special behind-the-scenes tour of the library will be offered by Director Andrew Hunt on June 24 at 4 p.m. To participate, just meet in the main lobby before 4 p.m. The tour takes about 45 minutes.
