Two people were arrested on burglary charges early Friday morning when Bradley County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a prowler call in the Benwood Drive neighborhood.
Reports indicated Patrick Michael Stewart, 18, and a 15-year-old juvenile have been charged with eight counts of burglary.
According to Bob Gault, public information officer for the Bradley County Sheriff’s Office, indicated a resident in the neighborhood observed a vehicle driving at a very slow pace through the subdivision around 2 a.m. The neighbor confronted Stewart and his underage passenger and detained the suspects until sheriffs’ deputies arrived.
Upon deputies’ arrival, investigators reportedly found a woman’s purse which was taken from a vehicle in the subdivision and various items from seven other vehicles throughout the county were recovered in the Stewart’s vehicle.
The two were then taken into custody.
Gault said deputies were able to return the stolen property to its owners.
