Melissa Hooper became the bride of Jimmy Strickland, both of Cleveland, in an outdoor evening ceremony on June 5, 2010, at the home of Rose and Dick Kellar, the bridegroom’s grandparents.

The bride is the daughter of Myra Ownbey of Calhoun, Ga., and Larry Crisp of Murphy, N.C. She is the granddaughter of Lucille Crisp of Murphy and the late Hollis Crisp.

The bridegroom is the son of Pam Green of Georgetown and Jimmy Strickland of Chattanooga. He is also the grandson of Mary Joyce Strickland of Cleveland and the late J.R. Strickland.

The wedding was officiated by Kurt A. Benson. Nuptial music was provided by Jared Elledge and Dustin Miller.

The bride was presented in marriage by her son, Cameron Saylors. Her daughter, Amethyst Patterson of Cleveland, was her maid of honor.

The bridegroom’s brother, Mikey Strickland of Cleveland, served as his best man.

The reception was given by the bridegroom’s mother and stepfather, Pam and Brian Green, and his father and stepmother, Jimmy and Chanda Strickland, along with his grandparents, Rose and Dick Kellar at their home. The bridegroom’s aunts, Cathy Kellar and Vicky Kellar Kennedy, and his father assisted.

Brittany Lanning kept the bride’s book and Elizabeth Stinchfield Hixson coordinated the event.

After a wedding trip to Daytona Beach, Fla. the couple is at home in Cleveland.
