The Cleveland Police Department is investigating a recent business burglary where a substantial amount of rare currency and coins were reported missing.
According to Cleveland Police Detective Brian Smith, the alleged theft occurred between May 21 and June 22 at Trinity Healthcare, located on the 2600 block of Peerless Road.
Smith said a “large collection” of rare coins and currency dating back to the early 1900s to 2005 was reported missing by the business owner. A stamp collection and unique gold lapel pins encrusted with diamonds were also reported stolen.
The items were reportedly taken from a safe located in an office in the building.
“Due to the sensitivity of the case and the investigation is ongoing we can only release a limited amount of information at this time,” said Smith.
Trinity Healthcare is offering a $3,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction in the case.
