Viola Gennett Barker, 61, a resident Polk County, passed away Friday, June 25, 2010, in a Fannin County hospital.

She was the daughter of the late Iowa Malene Bolinger Cabrera and Samuel Ralph Cabrera. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Ella Edgerton; and ex-husband, Truman George Barker.

She was a member of McCaysville Tabernacle Baptist Church.

Survivors include her daughters: Brenda Gail Barker and Lisa Gaylee Barker, both of Nashville; sisters: Monnie Green and her husband, Willie, of Ducktown and Brenda Lee Doorman of Blairsville, Ga.; and brothers: Samuel Rudolph Cabrera of Birmingham, Ala., Don Jugart Cabrera of Ducktown, and Amos Olen Cabrera of Cleveland.

A Remembrance of Life graveside service will be held at 4 p.m. Monday, June 28, 2010, in Samples Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Leonard Hunter officiating.
