The Voices of Lee will be the guest performers for the event. The Voices of Lee were finalists in December for the NBC “Sing-Off.” The 17-member group will be under the direction of Danny Murray. The Voices of Lee are known for their vocal harmonies and high-energy patriotic songs and gospel favorites.
Saturday morning the Voices will be performing “God Bless America.”
Other vocal performances will be offered by local gospel groups Mercy’s Bridge and Three Days Later.
The musical prelude will feature Mary Beth Wickes, Perry Horner, Kevin Mendel and John Miles.
The pledge to the American flag a will be led by Vietnam veteran Steve Orders and his 7-year-old son, Peyton.
Others on the program for the morning will be Cleveland Mayor Tom Rowland and Jerry McNabb, retired Navy chaplain.
The HHE Freedom Celebration begins at 10 a.m. in the Peerless Church’s gym. The doors will open at 9 a.m.
The public is invited to celebrate the nation’s 234th birthday with prayer and song at the Freedom Celebration.
