Charles Ryan Sherlin, 63, of Cleveland, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, June 30, 2010.

He was retired from Honey Well and was a Union Steward for Local Union No. 1676. He was a member of Clingan Ridge Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie and Hazel Sherlin; and brother, Gilbert Sherlin.

Survivors include his wife of 26 years, Dee Sherlin; the children he raised: Scott Johnson and wife, Tina, and Amy Johnson Fontenot; brother, Herman Sherlin and wife, Mitzi; grandchildren: Colby Johnson and Christa Fontenot; niece, Sabrina Anderson; nephew, Chuck Sherlin; and great-nieces and nephews, Logan Anderson, Ethan Anderson, Ariel Anderson and Hunter Sherlin.

The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 3, 2010, in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with Pastor Ricky Vaughn and the Rev. Mike Dixon officiating.

Interment will follow in Fort Hill Cemetery with Tyler Lawson, Chuck Sherlin, Byron Toomey, Michael Toomey, Obie Moore and Chris Coe serving as pallbearers. A white dove release ceremony will conclude the service.

The family will receive friends from 4 to 8 this evening at the funeral home.
