Michele Shelley of Knoxville and Van Garren of Benton exchanged wedding vows in an afternoon ceremony on June 20, 2010.

The bride is the daughter of Carolyn Bolling of Knoxville and Michael Poundstone of Abilene, Texas. She is the granddaughter of James and Lucille Purser of Killeen, Texas, the late Dorothy Masters and the late Virgil Poundstone.

The bridegroom is the son of Bill Garren of Benton and the late Barbara Garren. He is the grandson of the late Homer Garren, Wilma Garren of Benton and the late J.D. and Nettle Rogers.

The wedding was officiated by Patrick A. McCulley, pastor of River Worship Center. Nuptial music was provided by 3/4 Tyme Band.

The bride was given in marriage by her father. Bridesmaids were Amanda Jenkins and Emily Roach, both of Knoxville. The bride’s daughters, Savannah Shelley and Alexis Shelley, were flower girls.

Groomsmen were Kile Swafford, the bridegroom’s cousin, and Keith Work, both of Benton. The bridegroom’s son, Will Garren, was ring bearer.

Savannah Garren, the bridegroom’s daughter, registered guests.

The reception was held at Black Bear Cove Resort near Benton.

Mr. and Mrs. Garren plan a wedding trip to St. Lucia in October.
