Joe E. Queen, 96, of Cleveland, died June 30, 2010, in a local health care facility.

He was of the Protestant faith.

He was sixth in birth order of 11 children in his family. He was a well-known transmission specialist for 46 years at Hall Chevrolet.

He was preceded in death by his parents: Alfred T. and Vira Rymer Queen; wife, Louise Hughes Queen; brothers: D.A. Queen, Ruiel Queen and Hoyt Queen; and sisters: Velmar Queen, May Bell Bailey, Anna Mae Mullinax and Helen Jones.

Survivors include his brother, Paul Queen, of Cleveland; sisters: Stella Evans of Hodgkin, Ill., and Othella Trimm of Tucker, Ga.; and several nieces and nephews.

Graveside service will be conducted at 11:30 a.m. Monday, July 5, 2010, at Fort Hill Cemetery with Pastor Guinn Green and Pastor Bill Beaty officiating. C.L. Cartwright, Chris Beck, Todd Beck, Jackie Baxter, R.L. Queen and Charles Moses will serve as pallbearers. A white dove release ceremony will conclude the service.

The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.
