The business owner who suffered a significant loss during a recent burglary has added an additional reward of $5,000 to anyone who can help with the return of the missing items.

Last week, the Cleveland Police Department began investigating a business burglary at Trinity Healthcare, located on Peerless Road, where a “large collection” of rare coins and currency dating back to the mid-1800s to 2008 was reportedly taken from an office safe.

A partial list of the items taken include more than 200 complete sets of U.S. proof sets and uncirculated coins from 1956 to 2006, American Eagle gold bullion four-coin proof sets from 1986 to 2008, American Eagle platinum bullion four-coin proof sets from 1997 to 2008, 1886 silver dollars, 10-ounce silver bars, $1,000 bill, $500 bill and $5 bills dated 1862, 1928, 1934 and a $20 gold piece dated 1924. A stamp collection and unique gold lapel pins encrusted with diamonds were also reported stolen.

At the time the theft report was filed with the Cleveland Police Department, the business owner offered a $3,000 reward to anyone with information leading to the arrest and conviction of suspect(s) in the case. The $5,000 is an additional reward being offered for the return of the items stolen.

Cleveland Police Det. Brian Smith, who is heading the investigation, said the department is working hard to solve the case.
