Quick response by patrol deputies for the Bradley County Sheriff’s Office resulted in two arrests Friday morning for a burglary at a Charleston convenience store and the arrest of two additional suspects from a later burglary on Georgetown Road.

Just after midnight, several deputies responded to an alarm at Charleston Pik-Quik on Hiwassee Street. A 15-year-old male juvenile, who was hiding by an ice cooler when they arrived, was taken into custody.

Further investigation into the incident identified the second suspect who fled when the alarm sounded as Anthony William Jarrell, 20. He was arrested on burglary, contributing to the delinquency of a minor, failure to appear, and violation of probation charges and was transported to the Bradley County jail. Jarrell is being held without bond pending an arraignment hearing in General Sessions Court on Tuesday.

The juvenile was transported to the Juvenile Detention Center where he is being held for burglary. Just over an hour later, a business burglary call was received at the 911 Communications Center to 5045 Georgetown Road. The caller indicated an alarm sounded at a fireworks stand which woke the owner who was asleep nearby. He observed two males attempting to enter the tent where the business is located and managed to detain one of the suspects until sheriff’s deputies arrived on the scene to investigate.

The 16-year-old youth was turned over to deputies who then identified the second suspect in the burglary as 21-year-old Scott J. Bryceland. He was arrested at his home on Oak Crest Avenue for attempted burglary of a business, contributing to the delinquency of a minor, criminal trespass and criminal conspiracy. Bryceland’s arraignment is also on Tuesday.

Deputies charged the juvenile with attempted burglary of a building, criminal trespass, criminal conspiracy and curfew violation.

Bradley County Sheriff Tim Gobble commended patrol deputies for their quick response and arrest of suspects in both cases.
