He graduated with honors from Bradley Central High School in 1980, from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga with a degree in Business/Economics, Cum Laude, in 1984, and from Memphis State University Law School in 1995.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Ollie and Alice Barnette; paternal grandparents, Garland and Beulah Wooden; aunt, Mary Whited; and uncle, Clinton Wooden.
Survivors include his parents, Clayton and Nancy Wooden of Georgetown; brother and sister-in-law, Patrick and June Wooden of Georgetown; a very special niece, Ashley (AC) Wooden; nephew, Evan Wooden; and niece, Emily Wooden all of Georgetown; aunt, Virginia Wooden of Georgetown; aunt and uncle, John and Louise Neese of Dayton; and several first cousins.
A Remembrance of Life service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 27, 2010, at the North Ocoee Chapel of Jim Rush Funeral Homes with William’s brother, Patrick Wooden officiating.
Interment will follow in Wooden Family Cemetery in Georgetown with James Wooden, Jon Wooden, Ritchey Neese, Keith Millard, Ken Roark and Sammy Davis serving as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 9 this evening at the funeral home.
