She was the daughter of the late Walter VanHoose and Sula Witten VanHoose. She was also preceded in death by four brothers: Gilbert VanHoose, Walter Clay VanHoose, James Ernest VanHoose, Willard VanHoose; and one sister, Leila Beatty.
She was a wonderful homemaker and cook and was a loving mother and grandmother.
Survivors include her husband of 72 years, Bill Meade of Charleston; sons: Jack Meade and his wife, Penny, of Paintsville, Ky., Ronald Lee Meade and his wife, Robin, of Elizabethtown, Ky.; daughters: Judy Meade Wheatley and her husband, John, of Charleston, Nancy Karrol Meade of Charleston, Brenda Paulette Presley and her husband, Carl, of Polk County; brother, Paul Richard VanHoose of Nippa, Ky.; sisters: Dorothy VanHoose of Paintsville, Deloris Ann Stambaugh of Murray, Ky.; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and very special neighbors: Bill and Allie Miller and Mike Burrell.
A Remembrance of Life service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, July 29, 2010, at the North Chapel of Jim Rush Funeral Homes, with the Rev. Jerry Womack officiating.
Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens with Carl Presley, John Wheatley, Greg Coulter, Darby Womack, William Wheatley and Jerry Barger serving as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 9 this evening at the funeral home.
