Owner finds stolen motorcycle in woods
A motorcycle reported stolen Tuesday was found by its owner later thesame day. Criminal Investigations Division detectives responded to the scene, where they processed the cycle for evidence.
According to a report filed by deputy Earl Pike of the Bradley County Sheriff’s Office, Kevin Jones found his 2006 Suzuki Katana in a wooded area down the road from his home.
Jones reported the bike had been stolen from his home on White Oak Valley Road between midnight and noon Tuesday.
CID detective Jody Musselwhite went to the scene to collect fingerprint and other evidence.
According to the report, after the scene and property were processed, the motorcycle was returned to Jones.
- A Candies Creek Ridge Road man was arrested and charged with theft after he allegedly took a refrigerator from the front porch of a McPherson Lane residence and sold it for scrap metal.
Deputy Matt Landolt of the Bradley County Sheriff’s Office spoke with Randy Headrick, who said he noticed someone had removed the refrigerator from his porch. The alleged theft occurred Tuesday.
According to his report, Headrick checked around and found the refrigerator had been sold to a local salvage dealer and destroyed.
The salvage company was able to provide the name of the seller.
Landolt spoke to Gregory L. Trentham, 42, who stated he had gone to the residence and “knocked on Headrick’s door to ask permission to take the refrigerator, but there was no answer.”
The report also noted Trentham admitted to taking the refrigerator and “scrapping” it at the business.
Trentham was arrested and charged with theft under $500.
