An autopsy was scheduled Friday to determine the cause of death of a man who suffered an insect sting earlier in the day.

Alfred Parsons, 47, was found dead in his workplace just after noon Friday, according to Lt. Jimmy Woody, lead investigator for the Bradley County Sheriff’s Office.

Parsons was reportedly stung somewhere around 9 a.m. and continued working.

According to Woody, who attributed some of his findings to deputy Blu Walker’s initial report, officials began to respond to Barker and Nix Organs located on Crest Drive in McDonald.

Walker and Woody noted co-workers stated Parsons began to “feel bad” about 11 a.m.

Parsons reportedly went the company’s restroom and co-workers found him there later.

Bradley County Emergency Medical Services paramedics responded to the scene.

Woody said an autopsy should show whether Parsons succumbed due to anaphylaxis due to the insect sting.
