Gore became captivated with Southern Gospel music at the tender age of 10 as he listened to a local radio station in his hometown of Clanton, Ala.
The dream of singing Gospel Music grew in his heart until he started singing locally at the age of 14. His next step was singing with The Southmen, a regional group based out of Birmingham, Ala.
Gore next joined The Wilburns from Carthage. Wilburns songs featuring Tony’s incredible voice started leaping up the charts.
In 1993, Gore left The Wilburns to form Tony Gore and Majesty, and they began touring in Spring1994.
Immediately they were embraced by Gospel Music fans everywhere. The first song they released, “Thank God” was a Top 5 song. Then they released, “I Know What It’s Like,” another Top 5 song. “I’ll Put On A Crown” was a Top 10 song, but is still the most requested song they have ever done.
Their first No. 1 song, “Meanwhile In the Garden” topped the charts for three months. Recently, “Blessed Be The Name” also went to No. 1 . They traveled and sang and became one of the most requested artists on Gospel Music Television, and in major radio markets across the United States, South Africa and Ireland.
They had the pleasure of being the first Southern Gospel group to ever tour the country of Ireland.
In April of 2002, Gore’s ministry took a new direction, as he became a solo artist. It was the culmination of a long path of prayers and situations that God was working together to bring this to pass.
Today, Gore is traveling and ministering with a new zeal, a new enthusiasm, and a fresh anointing.
Gore’s unique voice and style have made him not only a leader in the industry, but through his growth and determination, has won the hearts of the fans and the respect of his peers. Tony Gore has an exciting future as he delivers his inimitable voice, dynamic style, and anointed music that will thrill Southern Gospel promoters and fans alike.
