He retired from Hardwick Stove Co. and was of the Baptist faith.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred Filyaw Elmore; parents, Benjamin Franklin Elmore and Mary Evans Elmore; and brothers and sisters: Ben Elmore, Austin Elmore, Capt. C.L. Elmore, Ralph Elmore, Evelyn Elmore, and Marie Fortenberry.
Survivors include his son, Donald N. Elmore of Athens; daughters: Martha Pritchett and husband, Larry, of Cleveland and Mary Ann DelosSantos and husband, Alfredo, of Marietta, Ga.; grandchildren: Brian Pritchett of Cleveland, Vanessa Ramey and husband, Mark, of Cleveland, Robin Pritchett of Cleveland, and Mary DelosSantos of Marietta; great-grandchildren: Mandy B. Pritchett, Kyle Pritchett and Travis Pritchett; sister, Catherine Billingsley of Chattanooga; and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Aug. 20, 2010, at Grissom Funeral Home.
Interment will follow at Hilcrest Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
