Jimmy “Tight Eye” Wright, 65, a resident of Cleveland, passed away Wednesday morning, Aug. 18, 2010, in a local hospital.
“Tight Eye” was retired from Cleveland Chair Factory with more than 26 years of service.
He enjoyed boating, fishing, NASCAR and football.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Erbelee Wright Smith; grandmother, Clara Wright Jenkins; grandfather, Will Wright; and his brother, Tommy Lamar Smith.
“Tight Eye” attended the Church of God.
Survivors include his wife, Vicky Wright, of Cleveland; son, Anthony Hawkins of Cleveland; grandchildren: Tristin Hawkins and his wife, Felicia, of Ocoee, Cristin Dakota Jean Hawkins of Cleveland; great-grandchildren: T.J. Hawkins, Lucy Hawkins and Tori Hawkins, all of Ocoee; sister, Wanda Massengale and her husband, Bobby, of Cleveland; brothers: James. L. Smith Jr. and his wife, Jeri, of Cleveland, Bobby Smith of Moultrie, Ga., Ricky Smith and Jackie Smith and his wife, Julie, all of Cleveland; and several nieces and nephews.
The Remembrance of Life service will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 21, 2010, from the Wildwood Chapel of Jim Rush Funeral Homes with Dr. Carl R. Hobbs and the Rev. John Bivens officiating.
Interment will follow in the Moores Chapel Cemetery with Wayne Smith, Roger Smith, Ricky Smith Jr., Kevin Smith, Jeremy Smith, Tommy Brown and Harvey Romines serving as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 9 this evening at the funeral home.
