The front cover of the AT&T Real Yellow Pages directory has featured many new buildings around the Cleveland area in recent years. This year the renovated Cleveland Bradley County Public Library was chosen for the cover.
“AT&T is extremely excited today to be able to announce that the Cleveland Bradley County Library is going to be on the front of the yellow pages for Cleveland/Bradley County,” MaryStewart Lewis, regional director for external affairs for AT&T Tennessee, said.
The new phone book was unveiled Friday, and a framed copy of the cover was presented to library director Andrew Hunt.
“I hope this serves to remind our community of the wonderful resource that is offered through the library ... from recreational reading, to books that support lifelong learning, access to computers and a variety of programs,” Hunt said.
Lewis called the library’s gracing of the cover of the directory a community effort because both the Bradley County Commission and the Cleveland City Council asked AT&T to put the new library on the cover.
Local government officials were present, including Cleveland Mayor Tom Rowland and Bradley County Mayor Gary Davis.
“I applaud AT&T for showcasing some of the hidden treasures of our community. We are proud of our new library, just as we were of recent issues featuring the beautiful buildings at Lee University,” Rowland said.
Many of the library board were also present and were recognized by Lewis, who said she understands how hard they work.
More than 80,000 copies of the phone book were produced for distribution, which has already begun.
